Course on reducing the rate of early school leaving.

 Beatriz González, head of the department of culture and classical languages, has carried out an Erasmus mobility the week of June 13 to 18 in the town of Palermo (Italy). This mobility consists of a course on reducing the rate of early school leaving. To do this, they have analyzed the most frequent causes, as well as the strategies that can reduce this high rate.







Learning strategies for the multilingual teaching of mathematics.

 The week of June 13 to 17, Adela Cascales, a mathematics teacher, has carried out an Erasmus+ mobility at the Sharples School secondary school in Bolton, Lancashire (Greater Manchester, United Kingdom). Since mathematics at IES Ausiàs March is taught in English in 1st ESO, the objective of this mobility is to learn teaching strategies to apply in our IES in our multilingual teaching context.

Visiting Niepolomice (POLAND) and receiving their teachers on the way back

 The week of May 16 to 20, teachers Amparo Izquierdo and Gloria Morant have been visiting a Polish center in the town of Niepolomice. In this school, in addition to learning about the country's educational system, they have observed language learning methodologies; They have also learned about specific programs that can be implemented to reduce school failure and that will be previously evaluated by the IES Ausiàs March teaching team for greater effectiveness. As part of the agreement, there are now 3 teachers from that High School, Dorota, Anna and Izabela, who are visiting Gandia the week of May 23-27.

Visiting Moletai High School (Lithuania)

On Sunday, April 24, the head of studies at IES Ausiàs March, Ximo Peiró, and the English teacher, Àngels Roselló, began a visit to the Moletai secondary school (Lithuania) during the week of April 25-29. This visit is part of the KA-101 Erasmus+ project focused on exploring different educational practices and initiatives in European centers that can be imported into the Gandia secondary school with the intention of reducing early school dropout and school failure.

Course on new uses and application of technology to the classroom

 During the December bank holidays, from the 4th to the 11th, our Erasmus + teammate, Amparo Bataller, participated in a course corresponding to a mobility of the Erasmus + project that seeks to reduce the dropout rate at the high school. The course has taken place in the Croatian city of Split and with the training on new technologies it is sought to give continuity to the school goal that applies this knowledge by promoting motivation and a more attractive learning for students with a tendency to leave studies early.






Logo contest for the Erasmus + project

 During the first quarter of the 2021-22 academic year, the logo contest was held for the Erasmus + project of the IES Ausiàs March with which they seek strategies that reduce the dropout rates in high school. In an interdisciplinary way, the computer science and visual arts departments have managed the contest led by their department heads Cristina Camarena and Verónica Sebastià respectively. The winning logo was that of the student Mireia Escrivá Femenia of 3ºC and the second finalist of the student Jonatan Terrades. The project coordinator awards the prize to the finalist Jonatan Terrades and the winner of the contest Mireia Escrivá.

2nd mobility (job shadowing BLOIS- France)

In the last week of November, two teachers from our High School have made a job shadowing visit at the lycée La Providence in the French town of Blois. Carmen Pla, Head of the guidance counselor department and Susana Soler, teacher of English, have carried out management approach tasks carried out in French schools in favor of inclusion, reduction of school failure and the management of bilingual programs in France. Based on the experience of this high school and the French education system, an improvement is expected in our school.

1st mobility (job shadowing CELLE-Germany)

During the week of November from 18 to 22, two teachers of the institute: Amparo Bataller of the IT department and Mireia Martínez of the technology department have been at the Oberschule Westercelle Institute in the German town of Celle. They have been mainly learning to introduce robotics into classrooms with the intention of offering our students new methodologies consistent with 21st century approaches that motivate them and help us reduce the dropout rate.


 They have also done networking with other European Schools during their visit.

Certificate of recognition for the effort in Erasmus+ projects

On July 4, the Valencian Ministry of Education presents the certificate of recognition for the effort in Erasmus+ programs to schools in the Valencian region that have been subsidized with new projects. IES Ausiàs March is consolidated in its plan to internationalize its teaching. On this occasion the professors who attend the collection of the award on behalf of the institute are Angels Roselló and Miquel Morell as coordinators of European Erasmus+ projects.

Days to exchange experiences on European projects

On June 26th, we are invited by the Gandia teaching training staff to expose in a seminar of good practices that also allows us to disseminate our European projects. Our participation is carried out by Amparo Bataller, director of the High School, and the coordinators of European programs & Erasmus+, Angels Roselló and Miquel Morell.





Annual Days KA-101



On June 24 and 25 we are invited to participate in the annual meetings organized by the SEPIE in Murcia in order to transfer the new management news of the project. On behalf of our High School, the project coordinator attended the conference.



Beneficiaries of a new Erasmus+ project


On June 4, we are informed that we have been granted with a new project within the key action 1 (KA-101) so in a period of 24 months teachers of the High School IES Ausiàs March will carry out structured courses and job shadowings in European countries to improve our educational quality. The title of the project is "Exploring learning environments to reduce dropout rate" and project code is 2019-1-ES01-KA101-060593.
